Seagull Scientific and International Featured Standards Announce Second Quarter 2015 Food Safety Webinars

BELLEVUE, Wash., USA — April 10, 2015 — Seagull Scientific, manufacturer of BarTender® labeling software, and International Featured Standards (IFS) today announced the next three topics and presenters for their co-produced webinar series on food safety, "20 Minutes with IFS." The webinar sessions, held at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the last Friday of each month, provide valuable insights into safety and compliance issues that impact the food supply chain.

The next three webinars will focus on Senior Management Responsibility (April 24), Foreign Material (May 29) and Personnel Hygiene (June 26), and include presenters from Mettler-Toledo and ECOLAB.

"Our customers and partners have told us they struggle with understanding the requirements placed on them by new food safety regulations, such as the Food Safety Management Act (FSMA) in the US, as well as by the ongoing enforcement of the EU’s Food Law,” said Steve Wilcox, VP of Marketing for Seagull Scientific. “We’re pleased to partner on these webinars with a standards organization the caliber of IFS, and especially to help the food industry learn more about the role that standards and technologies play in making the world’s food supply chain safe and secure."

George Gansner, Director of Marketing and Business Development at IFS, said, "The attendance rates from the first three webinars indicate the food industry is searching for clarity around both the regulatory and general certification implementation issues it faces. Supply chain safety is everyone’s responsibility. Each of these brief, 20-minute webinars begins with a discussion of the standards that pertain to the food safety topic of the month, and then delivers real-life solutions to the challenges presented."

Previous 2015 webinar topics have included Managing Critical Control Points, Labeling and Allergens, and Quality Control of Weights and Measures, with industry experts from Kestrel Management, Seagull Scientific and Mettler-Toledo.
