Licensing Changes for
Enterprise Editions of BarTender
The
two fundamental changes to BarTender Enterprise licensing are:
-
BarTender Enterprise License Removes
"Campus" and WAN Restrictions.
-
"Unlimited" Enterprise Editions Discontinued,
Replaced with New Parts.
Details on these important changes are described in the following sections.
BarTender Enterprise License Removes
"Campus" and WAN Restrictions
Previously, a single BarTender Enterprise edition license was restricted to
use on one LAN on one corporate campus. With the release of version
7.75, these restrictions have been removed; however, for technical
reasons, we continue to recommend that a separate BarTender Enterprise edition
be deployed on each LAN. To better understand the key technical challenges and
support issues:
Please read "WAN Usage Guidelines" in the
BarTender Enterprise Licensing white paper.
"Unlimited" Enterprise Editions Discontinued,
Replaced with New Parts
With the introduction of BarTender 7.75, new part numbers have been added to
handle printer quantities above 40.
Previously (with BarTender Enterprise 7.74 and older), the maximum regulated
quantity of installed printers was 40. Beyond 40 printers, an "Unlimited"
Enterprise edition could be purchased. That "Unlimited" edition has now
been discontinued.
