BarTender Earns Microsoft Certification

At Seagull, we've dedicated years to making BarTender and our true Windows printer "Drivers by Seagull" the most Windows-compliant label software package available. Now it's official! BarTender has received Microsoft certification as "Designed for Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98, and Windows NT." (We continue to be backward compatible with Windows 95 too.)

Microsoft's "Designed for Windows" designation means much more than simply "works with" or "runs" on Windows. To achieve the "Designed for" status, programs have to show that they take advantage of a wide variety of important Windows features and perform certain essential operations in the true, official "Windows way." Proper support for these Windows functions ensures not just superior compatibility with Windows itself, but better compatibility with other Windows programs as well. And, since BarTender so carefully follows the official standards for the proper "look and feel" of Windows software, BarTender is much more likely to seem familiar to new users and therefore be easier to learn.

For example, the main toolbar, menu options, Print and File menus are all modeled on proven, familiar designs. Advanced, intricate text formatting is done in the most familiar and standard way. Also, BarTender prints using true Windows printer drivers , so you adjust printer settings and manage print jobs in BarTender just as you would inside any standard Windows program. And the Enterprise Edition, through its support of ActiveX, provides integration with other software using the most powerful and best proven Microsoft standards.
