New Bar Code Symbologies

New bar code symbologies added to BarTender 7.1 include:

• RSS (Reduced Space Symbologies)
• EAN.UCC Composite
• Aztec
• Telepen

Two new sample label formats are included with BarTender to demonstrate use of the RSS and EAN.UCC Composite symbologies.

New VB Script Capabilities

Users that write their own BarTender VB Scripts to run during print jobs can now directly access the UCC/EAN Application Identifier. An additional VB Script enhancement allows advanced users to define an e-mail "object" for the generation of custom e-mails during print jobs.

Some Other New Features

Among minor new features not related to the UCC.EAN initiative, BarTender's text "Auto Size" feature now supports the sizing of text objects that contain multiple sub-strings formatted to use multiple fonts.
