Dean Miller Hired as Director of Sales
BELLEVUE, WA, USA - September 23, 2002--On September 23, just in time for the
Frontline exhibition in Chicago, Dean Miller joined Seagull as its new Director of Sales. Senior sales managers had been answering directly to Don Ray, Seagull president.
"I started my business career as a salesperson and I'll always be a salesperson at heart," says Mr. Ray. "Unfortunately, with demand for
our products growing so rapidly, I couldn't both strategize our big picture and continue to provide optimal hands-on leadership to our sales staff. Dean brings with him not just outstanding experience and industry
expertise, but a proven track record of managing sales growth, including developing, maintaining, and refining reseller programs."
With 30 years of professional and executive sales management experience, Mr. Miller has successfully managed sales forces and reseller programs in both
domestic and international markets. His resume includes 11 years at NCR and 14 more at Intermec Technologies, during which time he acquired extensive familiarity with a variety of hardware and software technologies
integral to successful supply chain operations and enterprise data flow, including the critical role of label printing technology. "I have followed Seagull's dramatic growth over the years," said Mr.
Miller, "and am extremely pleased to join a team of talented professionals committed to such high standards of both product quality and customer support."
Seagull has experienced record sales growth in 2002, presenting Seagull with a number of challenges as it tries to make the best of its new
opportunities for increased market share. Among the challenges for Ray and Miller are not just the larger staff in the USA, but a growing European office in Madrid and a brand new office in Osaka, Japan.
"Seagull has had a great 2002," says Mr. Ray, "and that was with me stretched kind of thin up until now. Now, with Dean on board, I'm
that much more confident in setting my sights even higher for next year."
