BarTender Service Releases
Understanding Upgrades and Minor Version Updates
Service releases are described in the next section below.
You should also know that minor version updates are always downloadable for
free. This is when the leftmost two digits of your BarTender version
number are the same as the latest version number. (For example,
going from v7.71 to v7.75 is a minor version update.) For more
information, please visit our How to Upgrade
web page.
Service Releases that are Minor Version Updates
If the leftmost two digits of your BarTender version number are the same as
the latest available version number (check the "Trial
Edition" download page to be sure), then downloading any of the
following three will have identical results:
-
The latest "service release"
-
A "minor version update"
-
The latest "Trial Edition"
However, one advantage of downloading using the latest Service Release
link is that you can also read about any possible important notifications about
your version of BarTender. Whatever you choose to download,
however, be sure to "Remove" your existing BarTender installation (using
Windows Control Panel) before installing the new version into the same
location.

Service Releases for Older BarTender Versions
If you have a version of BarTender where the leftmost two digits of your
version number do not match the latest available version number, then getting
the latest BarTender is a paid version upgrade. (For more
information, please visit our How to Upgrade
web page.)
However, users of older software can still update for free to the latest service
release available for your version of BarTender. Simply click on
the appropriate link below to read about and/or download the appropriate
service release:
