BarTender Certified for General Motors' Label Standard
BELLEVUE, WA, USA—September 26, 2000—BarTender label printing software, by
Seagull Scientific, Inc., has been certified by General Motors as compliant
with GM's 1724 label standard – the foundation of GM's mandate to suppliers to
follow specific shipping-label guidelines. Seagull provides, free on its web
site, 1724-compatible label templates that are "ready to use" on a variety of
industry-standard label printers. Seagull Scientific, the world's largest
developer of true Windows drivers for thermal printers, recently co-sponsored
the GM Suppliers' Conference at the Frontline Solutions show in Chicago.
Beginning on December 1, 2000, all GM global trading partners must follow
specific label requirements when shipping to GM plants. Once GM makes its 1724B
and C specifications available, suppliers will also be able to download these
label formats for free from www.seagullscientific.com
