How the Trial Edition Works

For the first 30 days, the Trial Edition of BarTender functions just like the full-working Enterprise Automation edition (our most powerful version). After that time, BarTender runs in a slightly limited "demo mode" that randomly changes one character in each printed bar code or text field. For example, if you tried to print out a text or bar code field containing "ABCD," it might print out as "ABXD" instead.

Choosing the Right Edition

After evaluating the Trial Edition of BarTender, make sure you purchase the right edition. Load the label designs you created into the Trial Edition and use the Help, Edition Information option to see which edition you need. You can also view the on-line Feature Comparison chart. Then you can learn more about how to buy or how to upgrade BarTender.

Ask about Software Maintenance

Purchasing a Software Maintenance Contract with your copy of BarTender gives you by far the most cost-effective way to get version updates in the future. Ask your reseller or click here for details.

Getting the Right Printer Drivers

BarTender will work with any true Windows printer driver. However, if you are using any of the major brands of label printers, you will get much higher performance if you also download and use Drivers by Seagull. (Drivers must be downloaded separately. They are not included in the BarTender downloads below.)

Downloading the Trial Edition

All download options listed below have everything you need to start designing labels right away.

• The "BarTender only" option is the smallest file and will therefore download the fastest.
• The larger "Full BarTender Suite" downloads include Commander, Librarian, Security Center, and the rest of the many BarTender "Companion Applications." They also include the BarTender .NET SDKs.
• The Multilingual versions support instant switching of the user-interface between more than 20 languages, but they take somewhat longer to download than English only. (The supported languages can be seen in the list of BarTender "Getting Started" Manuals.)
