BarTender v9.4 Service Release Downloads

Overview

The free Service Release at the bottom of this page can only be used to update existing copies of BarTender where the version number begins with 9.4.

If your BarTender software is older than version 9.4:

• You can only update for free to the latest service release available for that version.
• Or, you can purchase an update to the very latest version of BarTender.

BarTender 9.4 Service Releases

Service Release #3 ("SR3") of BarTender version 9.4 was released on July 22, 2011 with the following enhancements:

• Bug Fixes:  This service release fixes a few bugs introduced in SR2. The upgrade to Service Release 3 is strongly recommended.
• Translations:  SR3 also fixes a few problems in the Japanese and Korean translations.

Service Release #2 ("SR2") of BarTender version 9.4 was released on July 5, 2011 with the following enhancements:

• BarTender:  Added support for weighing scales from Data-Scales, Epelsa and Soehnle.
• BarTender:  Important System Information is now available in BarTender help, as well as the ability to submit this and other information automatically to Seagull technical support.
• More robust document handling:
  
  • BarTender can now automatically recover unsaved documents in the event of a power failure, application crash or other computer problem.
  • Commander can now automatically recover from crashed or stalled processes and automatically reload documents that have changed on disk or in Librarian.
• Print Station:  Added larger touch-screen buttons and other usability improvements.
• Seagull License Server:  Printers are now counted properly by SLS when using BarTender with Citrix and Windows Remote Desktop. This requires deploying the new SLS Remote Assistant component to each client PC that is running Citrix or Remote Desktop. Click here to learn more and download the SLS Remote Assistant.

Service Release #1 ("SR1") of BarTender version 9.4 was released on March 11, 2011 with the following enhancements:

• Updated Translations:  The original release of version 9.4 shipped with all newly-added features available in English only. With SR1, the new features are now available in all 23 supported languages.
• Fixed a Seagull License Server printer counting issue:  Fixed a problem where the number of printers in use could be double-counted in a Citrix environment. (The initial release of BarTender 9.4 fixed a similar overcounting issue with Remote Desktop.)

Installation Instructions

Starting with BarTender 9.0, the update instructions became simpler than they were for previous versions of BarTender. After downloading the latest BarTender 9.x service release:

• If you Already Installed a Version of BarTender 9.4: Do not bother to remove your old software. Simply, install the Service Release over your existing installation of BarTender 9.4. You will not be prompted to re-enter your original Product Key Code (PKC).
• If you Never Installed BarTender 9.4: Simply perform a new install of your downloaded BarTender 9.4 service release. When prompted for a Product Key Code (PKC), provide the one that came with your original copy of BarTender 9.4.

The "BarTender only" option is the smallest file and will therefore download the fastest. The larger "Full BarTender Suite" downloads include Librarian, Security Center, Commander, Printer Maestro, Print Station, and the rest of the Companion Applications. They also include the BarTender .NET SDKs.

The multilingual downloads support instant switching of the user-interface between more than 20 languages, but they take somewhat longer to download than English only. (The supported languages can be seen in the list of BarTender "Getting Started" Manuals.)

If you are updating an installation of either of the two Automation editions, we recommend that you also update Seagull License Server. (This is not needed for Basic and Professional editions.)
