BarTender 7.51 Service Release 2
Service Release Overview
BarTender v7.51 Service Release 3 (build 1376) should only be used to update
existing installations of BarTender v7.50 (build 1268) through BarTender v7.51
Service Release 2 (build 1365).
Service Bulletin: Missing Text with
BarTender 7.1, 7.50 and 7.51
On February 13, 2007, Microsoft released a Windows Security Patch to Windows XP
and 2003 Server that causes BarTender versions 7.1, 7.50 and 7.51 to truncate
text in some situations. Please click here for
more information, including details on the four available workarounds.
Upgradeable Releases
The following releases can be upgraded with BarTender v7.51 Service Release 3
(downloadable at the bottom of this page).
BarTender v7.50 (build 1268)
This is the initial release of version 7.5.
BarTender v7.51 (build 1296)
This release has the first fully translated versions of Commander and Seagull
License Server. We also fixed a number of problems in double-byte (Asian
language) environments.
BarTender v7.51 Service Release 1 (build 1324)
We fixed a problem in the original v7.51 release (build 1296) where the label
format preview would not work in the File Open Dialog, New Label Format Wizard,
or Windows Explorer. (This problem was never in v7.50.)
BarTender v7.51 Service Release 2 (build 1365)
A handful of minor and rare problems were fixed.
Release Notes
BarTender v7.51 Service Release 3 (build 1376)
Along with fixing some minor issues, this release fixes a memory leak that
occurs with Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003. While the leak is actually
in the operating system, not BarTender, this version does work around it.
Although this problem only affects users that are printing a very high volume
of labels, if you are running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, this service
release is recommended.
Installation
Be sure to uninstall any existing v7.5 installation before installing the
update, but do not deactivate when performing the uninstall. That way, once you
install the update, your software will already be activated.
Download
Because the multilingual edition supports instant switching between more than 20
languages, it takes somewhat longer to download than the English-only edition.
(The supported languages can be seen in the list of BarTender "Getting Started"
Manuals.)
If you are upgrading an Enterprise installation, you
will also want to update Seagull License server. (This is not needed for Basic
and Professional editions.)
